Professional Carpet and Floor Cleaning Will Wash Away the Remnants of Summer

Professional Carpet and Floor Cleaning Will Wash Away the Remnants of Summer

The calendar has turned to September and the kids are back in school. For the first time in a long time, the house is going to be empty and quiet for several hours a day. Sounds like a good time to have your carpets and flooring professionally cleaned!

“When you have kids and they have friends over all summer long, your flooring throughout the house can take a real beating,” said Edmund Bedient, owner of Clear Choice Cleaning Services in West Seneca and the father of five active children. “Add a pet or pets into the mix and you’re only adding to the problem. So take advantage of the school days and have your carpets and floors professionally cleaned, especially with the holidays right around the corner!”

A sparkling clean home is also extremely important if you are considering putting your house on the market at any time in the near future.

Are You Doing Your Part to Conserve Energy and Help the Environment?

The movement toward green energy is picking up momentum across the country and around the world. In fact, it was the appeal of bringing a clean energy option to their community that convinced Tyler and Alicia Uebelhoer to open Buffalo Solar Solutions Inc. in 2015.

“While we are huge advocates of solar energy, we realize that solar is not an option for everyone,” said Alicia. “Some homes may not be a good fit for solar, and we certainly understand that. But, there are many other small steps that individuals and families can take to do their part to help save the planet.”

Restaurant Owners Turn to Sure Step to Keep Employees on Their Feet

Restaurant Owners Turn to Sure Step to Keep Employees on Their Feet

As you might imagine, the kitchen at your favorite local restaurant is a very busy, fast-paced environment. In addition to all the food preparation and cooking taking place behind the scenes, there’s a tremendous amount of foot traffic — everyone from chefs to dishwashers and house managers to the waitstaff.

Needless to say, on any given day a restaurant kitchen floor also sees its share of spills and splashes. Food, beverages, water and even cooking oil can end up underneath the feet of restaurant employees at any point in time, increasing the likelihood of slips, falls and injuries to staff.

As a result, slips, trips and falls due to wet and slippery conditions are among the greatest kitchen concerns. For restaurant owners, it’s an ongoing battle to keep workers healthy and safe.

Personal Service and Education Contribute to Growth of the Solar Industry

While the popularity of solar energy continues to grow in communities across the nation, many industry experts are coming to the conclusion that the best way for solar — and solar companies — to grow is to take a regional approach. Their reasoning is rather simple: Installation of solar panels is best left to local companies who can better serve the needs of their customers.

Businesses Take Precautions to Help Seniors Stay On Their Feet

In the average American home, senior citizens are especially vulnerable when it comes to slip-and-fall accidents. Obstacles such as throw rugs, electrical cords, stairs and wet surfaces are among the leading causes of falls that send 1.6 million older Americans to hospitals each year.

Countless lawsuits against businesses are also filed annually due to slip-and-fall incidents that occur on commercial property. With that in mind, many business owners are turning to a product called Sure Step to help eliminate accidental falls and resulting injuries.

When an older customer enters an unfamiliar environment, the odds of a fall will increase. When a wet or slippery floor is added to the equation, the odds of a fall increase dramatically.

AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College’s athletic training graduates have for the fifth consecutive year achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the rigorous National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Board of Certification exam, a rate that far surpasses the national average of 83 percent.

“The impressive success of our 2017 athletic training graduates continues the high level of performance achieved by previous classes on the national certification exam,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, vice president for academic affairs and dean of students. “Attaining this pass rate speaks to the academic strength, quality of our faculty, and hard work of our talented students to develop the advanced competencies needed for the athletic training profession.”
