Elmwood Village Winter Market at Buffalo State Adds Food Trucks

The new Elmwood Village Winter Market at Buffalo State will add food trucks to the mix beginning this Saturday, Dec. 12. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays in Buckham Hall on the campus of SUNY Buffalo State, 1300 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo. A continuation of the popular Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, the 20-week winter market will run through April 30 (with the exception of Dec. 26 and Jan. 2).

Food trucks scheduled to join the market this Saturday include House of Munch and Taste of Puerto Rico!

Buckham Hall is located on Rockwell Road near Grant Street. Free parking is available on campus during market hours.

AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College will launch in January a new advanced certificate program in executive leadership and change (ELC), which is designed to prepare working professionals for leadership positions in business, health professions, higher education, and nonprofit organizations.

“This new advanced certificate program will offer students a great opportunity to develop essential leadership skills and build competencies in areas that will be beneficial to career advancement,” said Dr. John S. Frederick, executive director of the Daemen Center for Executive Leadership and Change. “With this advanced training, students will be better positioned to take on leadership roles and be more marketable in the workplace.”

 WNY Civic Hackathon powered by AT&T, the first ever daylong hackathon dedicated to solving local civic issues in the region, will challenge teams to face off to deliver the best civic technological solution in a 13 hour period for the following local issues; Housing/Property Blight, Transportation, and Advocacy/Public Policy. Cash prizes totaling $3,500 will be awarded, with a grand prize of $2,000, followed by a second place prize of $1,000 and $500 for third place.
