Winter Market on Hertel Seeks Vendors for Upcoming Season

 

Vendors are currently being sought for the second annual Winter Market on Hertel to take place in the 3,000-square-foot home of The Pasta Peddler and Blackbird Sweets, located at 1547 Hertel Ave., Buffalo. The 16-week market will begin on Dec. 5 and continue through April 2. Market hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

A Daemen College education has been ranked among the top 200 of private colleges in the country for best return on investment (ROI), according to PayScale’s 2015 ROI Report. The college is listed at No. 186 in the category for private colleges.

Daemen has also been recognized as one of Upstate New York’s most sound financial investments, ranking 18th on ROI. Daemen is ranked in the top 20 of 37 Upstate New York colleges, joining other prestigious private institutions in the state such as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (No. 1), Colgate University (No. 7), and Skidmore College (No. 16).

The report examines the earning potential of graduates from public and private colleges and universities across the United States.

Canal Village Farmers' Market opens in Downtown Medina

MEDINA – There’s a new farmers’ market in the heart of some of the richest farm land in Western New York. The Canal Village Farmers’ Market opened for business in Medina on July 11 and so far has been very well received.

The market is located in a parking lot owned by the Orleans Renaissance Group of Medina at the corner of West Center Street and West Avenue, in the heart of Medina’s historic downtown. The busy spot will be open every Saturday morning at 8:00AM until 1:00PM, through the month of October.

Chris Busch, President of the Orleans Renaissance Group said the organization felt that sponsoring a market was a good fit for an “arts and culture” organization like ORG.

Nearly every alien holding status in the U.S is required to inform USCIS of a change of address to a new non-temporary residence. H-4 Dependent Spouses May Now Apply for Employment Authorization

 

USCIS put into effect a new rule on May 26, 2015, allowing certain H-4 spouses to apply for work authorization. Previously, USCIS did not provide work authorization to any H-4 spouses. Since last Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) began accepting applications for employment authorization from H-4 dependent spouses of H-1B nonimmigrants who are seeking employment-based lawful permanent resident status. Premium processing is not available for this application.
