A man accused of robbing an Orleans County convenience store early Tuesday was apprehended within 20 minutes, according to Albion Police.

Jordan A. Askew, 19, was charged this morning with third-degree robbery, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor, said Albion Police Sgt. Tim Boyer.

A man robbed the Sugar Creek store at 3 West Ave., Albion, just before 2 a.m. He did not display a weapon but left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, Boyer said.

About 20 minutes after the robbery, Holley Police stopped a car matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle and Askew was brought back to Albion, Boyer said.

Askew was arraigned in Albion Town Court this morning and was remanded to the Orleans County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, Boyer said.

He is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing at 2 p.m. Thursday.
