Beckett Card Grading, Authentication Event Coming to Bases Loaded Sports Collectibles

Bases Loaded Sports Collectibles will host representatives from Beckett Grading Services and Beckett Authentication Services from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the store, located at 794 French Road, Cheektowaga.

Beckett Grading Services provides collectors with the most thorough, consistent and accurate grading efforts available in the industry. Your BGS-graded cards will be returned in a unique, protective cardholder. Beckett uses an easy-to-understand one- to 10-point grading scale to rate sports cards, which are graded on four key categories: Centering, corners, edges and surface. Grades from each of these key categories will be considered in determining your card's final overall grade. Beckett also grades non-sports cards, magazines, pocket schedules and gaming cards.

Audubon Community Nature Center’s 2017 Calendar Celebrates 60 Years!

Audubon Community Nature Center’s 2017 Calendar Celebrates 60 Years!

Jamestown, NY – The Audubon Community Nature Center (ACNC) has again produced the perfect holiday gift: A 2017 Natural History Calendar, full of local pictures and lore.

In celebration of the ACNC’s 60th anniversary year, the calendar features some success stories in nature from the last 60 years – like nesting Ospreys, Otters, and Fishers.

It also takes a look at some less successful stories – like Water Chestnut, and Rusty Blackbird declines of up to 99%.

Featuring a curious raccoon, the cover highlights Audubon’s new name, logo, and slogan. Along with photos of the past, there is natural history for each month.

Audubon Senior Naturalist Jeff Tome, who spearheads the calendar’s creation, noted that it was printed locally at MW Graphics and uses photos primarily by local and regional photographers. Proceeds support the ACNC’s educational programs.
