Audubon Community Nature Center

Audubon Community Nature Center builds and nurtures connections between people and nature by providing positive outdoor experiences, opportunities to learn about and understand the natural world, and knowledge to act in environmentally responsible ways.

Located at 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, New York, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren, Pennsylvania, Audubon’s grounds include over five miles of beautifully maintained trails on a 600-acre wetland preserve. Trails for walking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing -- plus the opportunity to view Liberty, a non-releasable Bald Eagle -- are open daily from dawn until dusk, free of charge.

The three-story Nature Center building houses the Blue Heron Gift Shop, a collection of live fish, reptiles and amphibians, and interactive displays that inform and engage visitors of all ages. Building/exhibit hours March-October are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 1-4:30 Sunday. November-February hours are 1-4:30 p.m. Sunday-Friday, and 10 a.m.-4:30 Saturday.  Children and members are admitted free of charge.  Non-member adults pay $6 admission except Sunday, a free day.

Audubon offers a wide variety of festivals, events, programs, and workshops throughout the year for people of all ages. Major events include the Snowflake Sustainable Living Festival the first Saturday in February, summer day camps, Wild 5K Run and Walk, Monarch Butterfly Festival the last Saturday in August, Enchanted Forest in early October, and Winter Lights over the holidays.
